christian dior fall 2012 couture(flower woman reborn)

It's couture week in Paris and the Dior Fall 2012 Couture show marked a new era for the fashion house, one with Raf Simons (previously of Jil Sander) at the helm.
Although I appreciate the fact that Simons has obviously found a way to keep his typically minimal point of view vibrant while still acknowledging the integrity of one of fashion's most notorious fashion houses, I'd be lying if I said that I didn't miss the drama that a Galliano show always promised.

THE GOOD: 'the new look' redux, swoon worthy prints courtesy of
Sterling Ruby, cigarette pants & metal belts
THE BAD: 'the new look' redux & knowing that I'm going to have to hear all about peplums for another season
THE UGLY: having to pick something, I would go with the hair & makeup. Overdone & worn out.
